Happy Saturday! I hope you had a wonderful week of service; I know I did! I hope I can make daily service a more consistent habit in my life. I know I'm a better and happier person when I do it :)
The challenge for next week is to eat out less, whatever that means for you. If you tend to eat out for lunch every day at work, then a good goal for the week might be to pack & bring a lunch a couple of days. Maybe you rarely cook dinner at home; try it out an extra night or two this week. Find a fun recipe to try that sounds absolutely delicious! I know many people who don't like to cook for just them self. If you're in that same boat, invite someone over to cook for. The more the merrier, right?
Fast food, is certainly quick and convenient but is rarely nutritious. I think a more accurate term for it would be fast food-like. Our bodies are amazing and somehow figure out how to keep us alive even though there isn't much for it to work with in these food-like substances we ingest. Fast "food" has all kinds of less than optimal oils used, tends to be minimal in nutrients, and often causes inflammation in our bodies. I could keep going but those are certainly reasons enough for me to stay away from it as much as possible. Yes, some days I just don't want to cook and we'll go somewhere to eat (which is usually a fajita-style salad at Chipotle) but we really try to limit it to once a week or less if possible. And quite frankly, it just doesn't taste as good as what we make at home. We're getting pretty spoiled :)
If you can find ways to minimize your fast food intake, your wallet and body will thank you for it, trust me!
How often do you tend to eat out during the week? Are you with me on this challenge?
