Knowing Who You Are

I was listening to a health broadcast yesterday and really liked something I heard. You know the saying "you are what you eat"? This interviewee said that she actually thinks that "you eat what you are." I can see her point;  if you think you'll never be able to accomplish something, you're more likely to to make decisions that support that thought pattern (poor food choices, not exercise, etc.). We convince ourselves that we have limited potential. If we can figure out who we are and what we want, we will make more healthful decisions.

“The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.” -Stephanie Perkins

Knowing who we are and who we're trying to become can also help us regain focus with our goals when we get off track or fall short. Essentially, we are more resilient. In order to know our purpose and value, we must look at the bigger picture.

I think we'd all benefit from taking the time to stop and figure out what we want to do with our lives; what legacy do we want to leave? Hopefully we all realize our worth and that our potential is limitless. I hope we can all find a way to feel empowered to be our best selves because we are absolutely worth it and have something unique to offer! Do you know who you are and your potential?

Have you taken the opportunity to serve today? I was able to support a neighbor by attending her dance performance tonight. I love being able to enjoy each other's unique talents!
