Happy Thanksgiving! We are enjoying this great day and most of the weekend with family. I feel very blessed to have so many amazing family members in my life!
Today I really wanted to express thanks for the financial freedom my husband and I have have experienced since reading The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.
We received the book for our wedding & it will probably be the gift that affects our lives the most. I wish every person on the planet would read it; I feel that strongly about what Dave teaches in it! This country would be very different if more people utilized the monetary mindset & strategies he advocates.
Thanks to Dave's book, we no longer have any debt besides our home. We were able to buy a decent car last week with cash; it was a great feeling! You should have seen the look on the woman's face at the DMV when she confirmed how much cash we paid for our car while getting it registered. I got the feeling that she must not see this very often. We haven't had a car payment in years and will never have one again, if we can help it.
I don't say this to brag but to share what is possible with a good plan. We are definitely not rich. I know and have experienced the stress that financial struggles bring and want everyone to experience this level of "freedom" we feel in our family. It was certainly not easy, cutting out things that we wanted in the short-term for what we wanted more in the long-term.
