Weekly Challenge: Sunshine... Sunshine!

Hello! How was the Whole7 challenge? Were you able to make at least one day meet the Whole30 criteria? If so, what did you think? I'm on Day 8 of my Whole30 and it's going pretty
well. I have definitely wanted some dark chocolate but it's only 30 days, right? :)

I love getting to about Day 7 in a Whole30 because that's when I typically start to really notice changes in my body. The pimples around my hairline that came during/after my vacation splurges are now gone, my jeans definitely start to feel more comfortable and I sleep so much better! These changes come at a great time to encourage me to keep going :D I hope you enjoyed the challenge and will shoot me a note if you've decided to keep going for 30 days (or even 7 more) because I'd love to cheer you on through it!

So... I got so wrapped up in the events of the weekend that I forgot to post the next challenge! I have been thinking quite a bit about it and am really excited for this one!

This week, the challenge is to get 15 minutes of sunshine in a day. If it's available and your skin can handle it (make sure you don't burn), enjoy more than the 15 minutes! For those who will burn in 15 minutes, ease into it. I looked at the forecast for Salt Lake weather this week and it should be possible to meet the challenge! Depending on where you live, get the sunshine in each day if you can and if not, fit it in every day that's available.

If you live in the Western United States, you are likely to be Vitamin D deficient in the winter months. Okay... so what? Vitamin D actually has the potential of reducing the risk of type 1 & 2 diabetes, cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune diseases. Sounds like a good idea to me! In order to produce Vitamin D, some skin does need to be exposed to the sun. If you can let the sun shine on your arms and/or legs in addition to your face and neck, that should do the trick to reap the Vitamin D benefits.

There may be a few strings attached to this challenge... :) You will likely only benefit from getting away from the computer, iPad, TV, etc. for a few minutes to play and enjoy being outside! Find someone to take outside with you and share the fun!

Will your climate allow you to meet the challenge this week? I'm so excited to get outside and play with my little family!
